SAN™ 10 for the processing of fine knitted and woven fabrics
The SAN™ 10 special application needle combines material protection with sufficient needle stability. Thanks to its slim shape, it has a smaller displacement cross-section in the eye area, which results in lower stress on the loops when the needle penetrates the material. This reduces material damage. At the same time, the special shape of the blade area ensures that the needle is stable enough to prevent needle breakage.
Spiral groove
On needles with a spiral groove, the long grooves do not run straight along the needle blade, but in a spiral or helical shape. They are used in inline chainstitch machines where the hook or looper moves along the sewing direction and the thread is guided from the front of the machine to the needle. As threading is carried out laterally from right to left, the thread runs diagonally over the needle blade. Therefore, the spiral groove has the advantage that the thread can lie in the spiral groove during needle penetration.
