GEBEDUR™ needles developed and patented by Groz-Beckert are coated with titanium nitride, which gives them their characteristic golden appearance. Flat shank at 90°
On sewing machine needles with a flat shank, one or multiple sides of the shank are flat. The flat shanks are used for radial positioning of the sewing machine needle in the needle bar. This ensures that the needle is positioned in exactly the same specified angle to the threading direction after each change. This guarantees a clear position of the needle in relation to the hook.
